Waitress at Gurney's Inn Resort & SpaJune 2013 - September 2013
Served food and beverage at Gurney's Inn, a renowned hotel and spa in the lovely, Montauk, NY. Facilitated a positive experience for customers.
Internship at Hospital de ClinicasOctober 2012 - March 2013
An internship in a hospital in a foreign country included doing my best to understand the dialogue as well as taking in the responsibilities of the hospital workers. I had to remain sharp because I used it as practice for learning and speaking the language as well as understanding what it's like to work in a hospital. I interacted with children, volunteers, nurses, and doctors- each playing a very different role in the hospital but all with a certain delegation of work and a certain amount of school/training prior to their acquisition of their current position.
Research Assistant at My Family and Me ProjectSeptember 2011 - December 2011
While the over-arching study focused on family relationships, my particular portion was to assess the adolescent and their "best friend" relationship. We viewed videos and coded for many traits but the main focus was to assess the prevalence of affiliation versus safety.
Researcher at The Cardiovascular CaregroupJune 2011 - August 2011
I worked with a vascular surgeon in effort to determine whether a fistula or a graft leads to less failures. Our goal was to prove that a fistula yields less failures in patients receiving dialysis. While the data seemed to be clear that a fistula is a better access than a graft, confounding variables prevented this from proving to be statistically significant.
Administrative Assistant at William E Simon School of BusinessJune 2010 - November 2010
Teaching Assistant at University of RochesterSeptember 2009 - December 2009
Led workshops for Statics, a Mechanical Engineering course, to aid students with their understanding of the material. Also helped with homework.
